I created an InfinityFree hosting account and created a MySQL database for my website. The database appears as created successfully in the control panel, but I still cannot access/open phpMyAdmin for that database.
This has been happening for approximately 2 days. I also tried accessing the control panel from two different browsers, so it does not seem to be a browser-specific issue.
I also noticed that the InfinityFree status page currently shows SQL Servers, phpMyAdmin, and the Control Panel as operational, so I am not sure what is causing the problem.
The account creation itself also took around 32 minutes, which seemed unusually long.
Could someone please check whether there is an issue with the database or with my hosting account, and let me know what I should do?
Both issues you’re describing are actually one and the same issue.
There was a problem receiving status updates from the hosting platform. This issue lasted roughly from the 29th of August around 14:00 until the 31st of August around 21:00 UTC.
The members area has pretty decent recovery mechanisms in place, which is why your account did become was marked as active after those 32 minutes.
However, there was no recovery mechanism to load the database hostname for your account. And since the database hostname is necessary to construct the phpMyAdmin login URL, that option is currently not available.
A background process is now running to retrieve the database hostnames for all accounts for which the notification was lost. This will take a few more hours to complete. When it’s done, all affected accounts will be able to access phpMyAdmin again from the members area.
