Constant letters about full use of inodes

But inodes are used only 63%

Please stop the misinformation

There is no ‘misinformation.’ The inode counter isn’t live; it updates every few hours. Therefore, your actual inode usage may be more than what is currently shown in the control panel.

Remember that the Inode stats on your dash arn’t live. So if you’ve been working on your site, you may be getting close to the limit, but the counter hasn’t updated.

Given you have over 580 pages with multiple blog posts on each, I wouldn’t be supprised if you are getting close to the Inode limit and the counter hasn;'t updated

I do see that the warning emails can be a bit excessive. It may regularly remind you if your inode usage is high, even if you’re still well within the limit and you usage is stable (inode usage doesn’t typically go up or down a lot unless you do something yourself).

I can check if this can be fine tuned somehow, but I cannot make any guarantees.

In the mean time, I suggest setting up an email filter to automatically delete these emails.

If the data in the control panel is incorrect, then where does the inode counter come from?

It turns out that the letters are false. Aimed at deceiving users

It’s dishonest and not good. Or is it a scam hosting?

If the data in the control panel is incorrect, is it a fraudulent hosting?

I don’t need anonymous false letters.

The data in the control panel is not wrong, it’s just outdated.

That’s not deception and it’s not fraud. It’s just the practical reality that we providing a live counter is not technically feasible. We’re trying to provide metrics as well as we reasonably can.

Also, I think that the emails will start firing as soon as you are over 50% usage, and 63% is over 50%. I’m pretty sure that the email also uses “over 50%” wording.

I can see how the email might be a bit more distressing than it should be. Inode usage typically doesn’t spike, and 63% usage alone is still well within the limit and doesn’t require immediate attention.

I fully agree that this is not the best. So like I already promised: I will see if this can be adjusted.

But to call that dishonest, deceptive and fraudulent is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. A poorly worded and poorly tuned resource warning is not ideal, but not a scam either.

You can call it whatever you want, but I don’t need deceptive letters

In addition, hosting errors often occur. Code 502

All this is not happy…

The problem is they arn’t deceptive. Maybe not the best worded, but not deceptive, and are designed to help you. If you don’t want them, you can set up an email rule to delete them, or just ignore them completely

502 errors happen from time to time with any hosting service. Its a known (if unfortunate) issue.

Square site (formally Weebly, nothing to do with the better know squarespace) always used to get them all the time when I hosted with them on their free plan. Its a lot better here.

The only other thing I can say is that if you’re unhappy with the service here, there are other free hosting providers… As much as we don’t want people leaving, if you’re not happy, you’re not trapped here.
