i am trying to connect to a database on infinityfree from a raspberry pi and i keep getting connection timed out so i was wondering if infinityfree is not allowing me to connect or something

As people have said, due to restrictions you cannot connect.

However you can create a LAN (Local Area Network) MySQL Server on your raspberry pi with the following tutorial;

Personally i run a Raspberry Pi cluster and that guide works fine, and with portforwarding you can make it external.

I spent an hour doing that and it was very much not easy and SQL still is not working

We can’t help you with that, Raspberry Pi have their own forum you can visit (raspberrypi.org) so do MySQL.
