No, you don’t; you just need to change the URL on WordPress so it points to the new domain.

ok thanks but can someone get access to my website with the new url parked domain name instead of using the old url that will redirect them to the parked new one

They can access it both ways, either from the new domain you added as a Parked Domain or from the old subdomain, which still redirects to the new domain.

look at what it show mw

Well, subdomains need to be added under the “Sub Domains” section of the Control Panel; after adding it you can delete the new subdomain’s htdocs folder and move the htdocs folder of your old subdomain to the new one, either through the File Manager or an FTP client. Like so you keep the old WordPress installation intact, but the old subdomain won’t work anymore and will return a 404. After that what’s left to do is to change the URL on your database’s phpMyAdmin so it points to the new one through this guide:

and here you go!

Ftp disconnect a lot when i am sending large file like the htdocs folder … i have tried fileziller and other ftp… i dont know if it is from me side or from you guys… is there any fix to it

Two tips:

  • It’s much faster to move files/directories than it is to copy them with FTP. Moving files can be done entirely on the server, and a directory can be moved in one single operation. Copying requires downloading the all files from the old location and copying them to the new location one by one.
  • The file manager is notoriously bad at large transfer operations. For quick edits, as well as moving files, it’s fine. But when you need to copy an entire website, FileZilla does a much better job.
