# Can't Upload Files and Folders via FileZilla

Same here: trying both ways to connect and upload my files fails like so:

click “ACCOUNT SETTINGS” --\>\> click “GO TO FILE MANAGER”
Login
Error! Could not read line from socket
2. using ftp to connect directly to: ftp://ftpupload.net:21
Response: 421 2900 users (the maximum) are already logged in, sorry
Error: Could not connect to server

In the first screenshot, I see you're trying to upload files to the directory `/3rdparty`. This will not work, because you cannot upload files outside the htdocs directory. Please try to upload the files to the htdocs directory instead.
The second screenshot shows the upload was cancelled on their client side, meaning either you cancelled it or FileZilla did, followed by the connection being killed by the server for inactivity. The inactivity errors are normal, and should not prevent you from uploading your website.
Also, @[a8f8c865ebb](https://forum.infinityfree.com/profile/a8f8c865ebb) , please don't assume that every FTP issue is the same as your FTP issue. In this case, the issues look completely unrelated (you cannot connect at all, but @Martin1756 only has trouble uploading files). Unless you're absolutely sure you have exactly the same issue, please create a new topic instead.
