You are editing the wrong file

Adding to that, the contents of the files you shared say this:

DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE

Create a new .htaccess file in your htdocs

directory (or example.com/htdocs/ directory)

to add your own rules or override these rules.

The file you should be looking to edit should be inside your .htdocs folder.

The default DirectoryIndex rules are usually these:

@Admin

DirectoryIndex index.php index.html index.htm

In any case, your site works fine for me now.
