Hello, I do not have a backup of the above site that I was working on, as my very first ever; website. I was using the wordpress CMS, and in trying to verify site ownership for SEO this evening; I encountered an error. The error was that I have utillized my FTP quota or something related. I ended up deleting 2 or 3 files whose creation date reflects 2023, as I didnt realize the importance of those files, untill now. Partly, an index file dated 2023. So I am seeking to understand whether there is any possibility of an autoback up, that can restore my site to the way it was on 24th/11/2024, before I think of starting all over?

Unfortunately no, it’s your responsibility to have a backup of your website at all times.

But your can probably just replace the files you deleted by downloading a fresh copy of Wordpress and copying them in. WordPress uses the database for pretty much everything you customize other then plugins and themes, so you should not have to start over.

That said, you should take this as a lesson to start taking backups.
