Awful experience - unusable on Brave

This site is unusable. ‘Was looking at free hosts - but, I only wish to use Brave - and I have to run Brave in incognito mode for the InfinityFree website to show properly.

Otherwise, it loads ‘appearing’ like a website from the 90s.

I also get these msgs: “Choose Hosting Plan
Multiple errors occurred while processing your request. Please review the errors below and try again.”

I couldn’t choose the plan or account - it only had paid ones that I had to order. It was not intuitive of what to do at all. I researched what is it about Brave that doesn’t work (via default) with InfinityFree and could only think it has to do with Brave blocking advertising - disabling the Shields did nothing or didn’t improve things.

I don’t know why ppl recommend InfinityFree - they must pay those guys.

I really don’t want to use another browser so I’ll look for another hosting site, I guess.

Hello, and Welcome to the InfinityFree Forum @nodice!

Sorry to hear about the bad experience, but please don’t leave us just yet! There is a way to load the page normally!

The culprit? html-load.com is blocked by Brave. I’m not sure how to un-block this for Brave, but I do know that whitelisting this URL helps restore page content.

To my knowledge, nobody is paid to recommend InfinityFree. We simply recommend it because it is genuinely good.

Thats intresting, because I use brave and havent had any problems.

Can you share a screenshot (and url) of the problem you’re facing

As for choosing a plan, that sounds like you’ve gone through to IFastNet, since Infinity Free only offer free accounts

I just checked our website using Brave and I had no problems, even with Brave Shields enabled. Only when I turned on “Block Scripts” did the styling disappear. But that’s expected, and a lot of functionality will stop working if you disable all Javascript.

The reason many people recommend is because our service is actually good, and your experience is not representative for what most people see, even those using the same browser as you do apparently.

Do you have any custom configuration in Brave that could explain this behavior?

Does that help?
I removed the ad block/shields etc. on the website and it made no difference.

Right. So that means html-load.com (the site that serves the pages CSS) is being blocked.

With shields down, it should work. Try using an incognito tab (with shields down) to make sure its not the cache causing the issue

I thought I made it clear that the shields can be down and it still doesn’t work.

I’ve noticed other posts of ppl having problems when using Brave. But, ppl said ‘works for me.’ I have come across this line on forums before. It’s just a waste of time messing with this when there is no help with this.
I just hope more and more ppl will use Brave in the future and have the same problem I’m having so InfinityFree can be abandoned as a free host site for something (anything) else.

You did. And that’s why I added the very important additional step of using an incognito window. Since its quite likely your browser has Cached the page without the proper CSS. Brave has quite an aggressive cache.

Given the number of us that do use brave (myself included) the problem your facing is not a brave specific problem.

On the other hand, the problem your facing does pop up regularly for people regardless of browser. And 90% of the time, the solution is either to clear cache and reload the page, or that an add blocker (or their network or ISP) is blocking http://html-load.com/

Now, if you’ve come to the forum looking for a solution, we can work with you and help get to the bottom of the issue, and resolve the problem.

If you didn’t come looking for a solution, then there’s nothing more we can do.

On a fresh installation of Brave, InfinityFree.com works perfectly fine on my end, regardless of Shields being enabled or not.

So while this problem is only occurring to you using Brave, it obviously isn’t inherent to Brave. It also obviously isn’t a problem on InfinityFree’s end.
I concur with Dan that what you’re describing sounds exactly like html-load.com is being blocked on your end, but I admit I can’t be sure why that is. Unless you use any third-party blocking solutions instead of just Brave Shields.

Or using some custom DNS blacklist thing that is blackholing, same end result problem Is with op’s setup not IF

I mentioned I can view the page properly in incognito mode - enabling the shield or disabling it made no difference.
I can view http:://html-load.com just fine, too.

I also tried clearing the cache. No difference. I don’t know why you understand my frustration - I could cite the posts that are on here of others having at least somewhat of a similar problem - and they kept saying ‘I tried that - didn’t work’ - and I think it included messing around with the shields, javascript settings, clearing cache - dunno what else. Guess what? Everyone of them left and didn’t utter a word - so, that usually means they were frustrated and just left. It’s rare for someone to find something worked and never say so - I guess it happens but I wouldn’t ride a pay cheque on that.

If you can view the page properly in incognito mode that suggests a plugin or setting in your main session (that’s disabled in incognito) is causing the problem.

Do you have any extra adblockers installed on your browser? or any plugins that change page appearance?

They are the usual culprits, and disabling adblockers on infinity free works to fix this for many people.

Some plugins that replace standard adds so you can earn money from ads often cause the same issues as adblockers too.

Please understand that we are trying to help. But part of that process is suggesting different things to help narrow down the problem

Hello and welcome to the community. The problem you are currently experiencing is solvable, definitely, guaranteed. Even if you insist on using Brave browser alone and nothing else. However, in order for us to share with you the joy we are experiencing in using InfinityFree, you need to be specific on the pages (URLs) you are visiting. Then, kindly open the Console Panel from File → More tools → Developer tool, and share us the errors and warnings you see.

Since, enabling/disabling Shield, doesn’t offer any difference, kindly open up brave://settings/help , brave://settings/shields , brave://settings/shields/filters and custom filter lists (if any), so we can look a little bit deeper about Brave’s version and how does it filter content. Kindly inform (or screenshot) us those that are enabled and checked.

Also, it is perfectly possible that other factors like your ISP, router, anti-virus, company policy, and anything else might be the culprit in messing your experience. We are all ears to help and identify the source if you are willing to offer us a little bit of your time and patience. If you will abandon us soon then nothing else could be done.

Referencing posts outdated long ago doesn’t really say much about your current state. Brave updates frequently. There are also system upgrades here. We can’t be sure which/what happened/happening then/now. The same can be said why some people of interest chose to remain silent after posting their unfortunate experience. They moved on, yes, probably, but it doesn’t validate the issue was left unresolved, no help was offered, and nothing was done.

I suspect this will be my last post/reply. I don’t have a plugin running and no ad blocker is installed. I haven’t had ANY joy using IF and it was an annoyance signing up - since the page wasn’t loaded properly. I might have signed up in Incognito mode, ‘can’t remember. I have decided to go with another free hosting site. I have tried a few others - no problems loading them with Brave. Thanks for the last msg but spending too much time on this already and imho, it’s been ridiculous. Ciao.

Edit: Brave ver. is the latest 1.84.132.

Forums are made exactly to promote user interaction, feedback, and improvement. For every problem that exists, there’s a solution, until you hear the admin saying, “Life is unfair, sorry, can’t help you.”

I highly suspect that you made already your last post, or last visit at least (in case the resistance to take a peek fails you). It is really a bit intellectually dishonest to assume all previous posts tangentially similar to yours all left frustrated. If you did research as you claimed to be, even other forums that rarely get replied upon on a timely and consistent manner (e.g. CloudFlare, anti-virus, Brave Browser included) have user experience like yours that does not involve InfinityFree. And yet, you’ll never hear “Brave Browser sucks”, “CloudFlare is awful”, “I’ll switch to another AV”.

In case you follow this thread incognito, allow reason to reign over your emotions, and invest a bit more patience, I’m sure things can work out for the better, not to you alone but for others in the future.

I completely understand your frustration, and I’m sorry our website didn’t work properly for you in Brave. That’s absolutely not the experience we want anyone to have.

While I respect your decision to move to another service, if you ever want to give us another try in the future, we’d be happy to help troubleshoot the browser compatibility issue. We genuinely want to improve our site’s compatibility across all browsers.

I’m really sorry that you weren’t able to find the solution you wanted.

At this point my best guess is that something on your network, or your isp, was causing the block. But we’ll never know now.

I wish you the best of luck with your new provider.

I’m back…. I’m back to inform you that I think I figured out the culprit. I guess this is gonna sound dumb but I hope someone who recognizes what was going on can explain it well.

Anyway, I first tried to troubleshoot by testing my smartphone running Brave with my ISP - since some ppl theorized that my ISP was blocking something. To be honest, I didn’t think that was the problem. Anyway, Brave mobile browser worked loading IF both using data on and with my ISP via wifi. So, I looked at the settings and tried to match everything (as much as I could) with the mobile Browser settings. It didn’t matter - didn’t change anything. So, I looked at my Brave desktop browser settings (yet) AGAIN.

I decided to look at my extensions and disable them one at a time and then test, loading IF - one extension seems to be the culprit. It’s ‘DuckDuckDuckGo Search & Tracker Protection

2025.11.3
Actively protects your data in your current browser.”

I disabled that one and then re-loaded the InfinityFree website and voila, it loads properly. So, that extension was blocking something? But, what?

Is IF running a tracker or something? That extension ‘decided’ something should be blocked and I’m wondering if there is some exception I can edit in the extension - can’t find one yet but now I can get closer to a real solution, right? If I wanted….

It’s most likely blocking https://html-load.com/. I’ve discovered the same thing using the DuckDuckGo extension on InfinityFree’s homepage. It’s what InfinityFree uses to load in CSS, specifically so people can’t use ad blockers since they rely on ad revenue to stay afloat.
I’ve also found that just whitelisting that doesn’t help, I have disable DDG protection on the homepage.

Not as far as I’m aware, But it does use google ads… which I belive does use a tracker.

I’ve just installed the extension to see if I can replicate the issue your facing, and yep, I get exactly the same. I did notice if I open the duckduckgo extension’s menu, I can see this:

Google ads and easyAd deutchland GmbH are obviously ad servers.

html-load.com is the link to the css, and this being blocked is the specific cause of the display issues you’ve had.

I’ve been playing with it for 15 minutes and can’t find a way to just whitelist part of the page that actually works. So the only real option would be to add dash.infinityfree.com to the “Unprotected Sites” list in the extension settings
