any clue why file gets saved by default even though auto-save at bottom is unchecked? and it auto-saves instantly in the midst of revision!!

I assume you’re talking about our web based file manager?
It shouldn’t auto save if auto saving is not enabled, but MonstaFTP isn’t completely bug free software.
Did you actually see the Save button spin while you were working on things? Or did you assume this because of something else?

Hi thanks for the response - there is no visible spinning but the file gets saved instantaneously - have tested it out by making a 1 line change and then closing and reopening it - and the new edit gets saved asap.

Could it be that the file manager leaves the unsaved file in the buffers? So the changes are only stored in your browser for the file manager, and not actually on the FTP server?
Could you please verify that you can create a HTML file on your site with some content, make a change in the editor, close and reopen the editor and then refresh the page to verify whether the change was actually saved?
