Any changes I makes in my file manager does not reflect on my website

www(.)enhanseo(.)com

Any changes I make inside the file manager does not reflect on my WWW version of the website. It only reflects on non-WWW version of the website (or at least it used to do; since google canonicalized my WWW version of the website, I had to force WWW in non-WWW url as well to remain consistent and not get penalized by google SERP). Even if I delete any files, changes will not be visible.

N.B. for example if I want to change an image file called banner.png, the changes will only show when I change the file’s name to say new_banner.png AND at the same time change its associated link rel source in the header file to ./newbanner.png. Only doing any one of these (like deleting the banner.png file) will not affect my website in the slightest. (I know what I just said might sound confusing. If that is the case, please let me know and I will try to explain more)

The change that I currently want to make is to redirect all 404 pages to my homepage. But making any changes to htaccess file is not making any difference (neither is deleting it). Also, my WWW version of the website is missing the default infinityfree error pages as well. Only the non-WWW version has it (which I don’t use anymore).

Thank you

I meant ./new_banner.png

I wouldn’t do that. Users might get confused about why they keep ending up there.

The rest of the issues are probably cached-related. Please clear the cache on your browser and refresh the site after changes.

I have cleared the browser cache, purged the cloudflare cache and even tried it on seperate devices. I don’t think the issue is cache related. Like I said, changes would show, but only on non-www version, not the www version which is what I want.

Please show your Cloudflare DNS records

Are you using some sort of management system like WP or something else?

No, just a php script.

Could you try purging the Cloudflare cache first and the browser cache after?

You say it’s not a caching issue, but everything you describe sounds exactly like a caching issue.

Tried that just now. Also used incognito mode on my friend’s device to be very safe. Still persisting :frowning:

Okay I’ve been continuously refreshing my browser and finally the changes are showing up. You were right & I feel very stupid but relieved now. Thank you.
