I had a website that was being hosted here. I had not looked at it for a while as I made it as part of a project for school but it was still being used frequently by the person I made it for and now it appears to have been deleted. I did not delete it myself but as all of my code is on my old school account I have no way of getting to it (rookie error I know). Is there anyway I can get it back?
Not if it’s been deleted, I’m afraid. InfinityFree doesn’t keep any backups of accounts as the storage space needed to do so would be too costly.
You must be active in the infinityfree to keep your website online.
What do you mean by that?
Being active in the Infinityfree does not guarantee the prevention of the account’s deactivation process. As far as I know and if I am not mistaken, you only need 3 monthly hits to keep the hosting account alive. If you have 3 websites hosted in one hosting account, then you only need 3 network requests from any of them to save all of the websites in that account.
You should visit your website every month especially if it does not have any visitors yet. It’s better if you can do it daily! Visiting any webpage from your website that contain 3 images is enough to avoid the daunting deactivation process. You can also try reloading the webpage 3 times but make sure that you have disabled the network cache in the browser’s developer tool before attempting it.
Last time I recall, it was 5 hits to any website on a hosting account.
