A Records

How can I set up an A Record? I believe that is what it is. I wanna hide an IP Address for my gaming Server behind an Sub Domain

Control Panel → A records

That is completely wrong, don’t know why I thought that. A records cannot be created on free hosting, thank you @JxstErg1 !

Note that using free subdomains for other applications is not supported, so what you are trying to do may or may not work.

Also, A records don’t hide IP addresses

I cant use like play.mydomain.rf.gd? (which would be off of my hosting domain)? Also I cant remember how tro do it its been years. If its not allowed, i understand.

I would like to correct you there: A records aren’t supported on free hosting, at least on the default nameservers (which the OP is forced to use since he’s using a free subdomain hosted with us). Maybe you meant CNAME Records there, which are the same just with a common name instead of an IP address? For the rest you’re right.

For who’s taking the time to read this post just now: ignore it, @Greenreader9 already corrected his mistake. I’ll still leave its contents intact as they will be useful in the future.

So if I use a CName i could hide my Gaming IP or that not allowed or would work?

You would still have to point it to the hostname of your gaming server and not directly to the IP address since CNAME records must be a common name (e.g. a hostname) and not have an IP address, but as long as the hostname points to the server IP you prefer to point to, you would be fine. Your server IP will still be found with a simple dig to your new hostname (or the one you’ll be pointing to) if someone has the audacity to use that tool, so technically it’s not hidden, but your clients can still connect to it without having to remember the IP address of the server you’re pointing to.
