At least there is another layer of safeguard. Of course nothing is ever foolproof…

Not complete privacy, but at least the network operators won’t be able to see what you’re doing or throttle you as easily.

You with VPN, how many emails have you received from this forum with the message that you are logged in from an unusual address?

I only used it for a while, then disconnected it and promise I would never use it to access the forum, as I like to use my home IP or my mobile IP. @Thewebuser22, I’m redirecting what Oxy said.

I could do this indefinitely  if there was no limit of 30

None :>

Don’t remember many services telling me that, actually (only from Google IIRC)

What really confuses me, though, is
a) why VPNs advertise bypassing region blocking when most services state that it would violate the ToS, and
b) Why VPNs advertise privacy when it comes to things like location tracking when most services don’t want you to use or even outright forbid you to use VPNs

I get a notification every time

Maybe you don’t press the logout button
so cookies remain in your browser and then the forum recognizes that it is you again, even though your IP is from another country.

Forget privacy - because every browser reports the OS language, time zone and other things
which can be called with JS from a website you visit or some other form of fingerprinting.

I even had to go in firefox (kali)

about:config
privacy.resistFingerprinting

and several other settings… it is interesting that after that the browser does not remember the last size of its window when you restart it, etc.

So, those who want to “hack” someone hide using Tor or VPN
and they don’t know that their browser “sends” that it is from the time zone e.g. UTC +4
on a system whose language is XY and a lot of other data with which one can follow someone or learn…
not to mention that many VPNs are actually government secret services.

For example :

Why is that? What is the point of browsers exposing such information to the javascript side?
I know there is a use for those in terms of adjusting accessiblity but can we have the ability to disable those at least?

So this forum would be able to display the time of posts in your local time

and many other things like an API for various things (for the browser to say what it supports)

interesting to read - Advanced Tor Browser Fingerprinting

Ziv… maybe you will be interested in this (if you can visit the site)

Yep. If I want more privacy I usually start up tor.

Forgot about fingerprinting though. Yeah, even rendering information can be used as a fingerprint (because each graphics card + hardware & software combo can create a slightly different render).

Is this Web Environment Integrity API? WhatsApp begs for update so I updated all apps I have on my phone.

For editing file, use edit, right? Either a design flaw or something.

Just right click immediately. No need to select first

Hmmm…what can I do if my domain is being held ransom by a sketchy domain registrar?
What can I do?
There seems no way I can remove the domain lock

Function used to be there I think

I think you should contact your domain registrar and ask them for a possible solution to get your domain back that won’t cost you all your money.

Oh, I didn’t know that before. Thank you.

As you can see

The main menu keeps changing.
The contact link is no longer available.
The circled link is the new option.

The reply I got from the old contact link is not helpful at all

I saw the “Other Functions” link though. What is the domain registrar you’re using, so I can help you better?
