I see. So a credit card is still needed.
If only paypal option is available…
Still a hassle compared to Freenom domain signups

I also added mine on free hosting platform and successfully connected it on Cloudflare as well! I also managed to generate a self-signed SSL certificate without using any online tool, but using OpenSSL and letting it generate a CSR for me as well, with a duration of almost 60 years, which is perfect for use for Cloudflare with SSL mode set to “Full”!
I’m disappointed, and so I won’t use .pp.ua. Now entering the next day (closer to 2am) and my .link domain still not arrived. *realized it’s been 12 hours since I ordered
Two years before I think there wasn’t any credit card needed for PP.ua, but now they decided to put so and well, this happens… Hey, at least Cloudflare works for those as well!
I did a little searching on their whois
and it seems to me that it does not support Whois Privacy
that means most of the data is publicly visible
here they list an option for paypal and the procedure, I just don’t know if it also applies to free pp.ua - but try to contact them and ask.
It’s probably most convenient for them to take your credit card and by the way verify your identity through it.
That’s what I think before
Surprised that they have added this check. But it is reasonable after all, to prevent possible abusing.
Yep
Now I am awake
The worst thing you can imagine now is that they’ve rejected your request or some bug happened. Currently on DynaDot your domain remains available. Maybe you can get another account? (Might break their ToS, however.)
I believe we are in the same timezone.
Just that I sleep later…
So you sleep at 1am or later? That’s late!
That’s right!
24 hours has passed. I still didn’t get my domain. F word.
Well, talk is cheap. Claiming to expedite order when nothing was done since 24 hrs
Great! It works!!!
I would say it is a good alternative to nic.eu.org for now as approval is considered fast
Credit card requirement will be a hindrance for some though
I especially agree with what you said about the credit card requirement, but just a few cents will be taken off and refunded when it’s going to be verified. So if someone has a valid credit card with less credit on it (at least $1 or even lesser than that), it’s a valid alternative to EU.org because it takes less to activate.
And that’s the reality.
I emailed the orders team, and see what they say.
I would say this is some trade-off:
eu.org handles request through a real human, making it almost impossible to brute force and sending a lot of bad requests, claiming every domain.
While pp.ua / nic.ua handle their requests through apis ---- This makes their service faster but also weaker. If there is no check at all then all pp.ua domains are gonna be taken by robots. (It do is a obstacle, I agree.)
They have two activation steps required though: a valid credit card and a SMS verification code you need to insert into a page on a website (with a CAPTCHA as well to prevent bots).
Telegram bot can be used for subdomain activation as well
Yeah, that as well. I wanted to simplify the things for him, but then once you got the code you still have to go to the same page as the SMS verification to verify it (so a CAPTCHA as well).
