That’s my work laptop that I reboot daily. They just require us to have so many plugins and have do many open tabs.
And they have it set up in the least efficient was possible, but lock us out of the settings

I actually almost never reboot my laptop I usually just put it in hibernation mode
Pretty sure that the desktop app, for whatever reason, has more functions then the website does
And that lads and gents is what we call 
sandboxing . browser tabs are tightly confined by default. So when big platforms wanting low level access to hardware for example, they need a way to break out of the sandbox, but without telling people to disable the said security feature, which in turn a terrible idea. The solution? ALMIGHTY STUPID ELECTRON (for desktop) AND REACT NATIVE THAT’S SLOW AF ON ANY DEVICES IMAGINABLE

For something like Spotify, I can imagine that something like media player integration (keyboard hotkeys, whatever your OS provides) might be difficult when you’ve got a browser in between that translates your web code into whatever they want on the host, which might not work well at all.
Or it’s just the same set of reasons why literally every company out there must have their own mobile app, despite it offering zero added functionality compared to the web app: having your icon on your users’ devices so they won’t forget you, as well as vastly better tracking and data collection options (did you know that every Android app can read the list of apps you have installed on your device? tracking competitor popularity has never been so easy).

man i think no one use geforce now anymore, i click play genshin and it give me a queue that only have 20 people and after the gamers count show like 7 or 4 (only take 2 min to wait), it just immediately jump straight into the game

I think someone just DDoSed a hosting account I created here back in the May '23 
Not sure why but I’m still a bit surprised that I recieved a suspension notice given that all of my account are not in active use, only for when I wanted to test something
