this is for multiple occasions at once. one, celebrating my large sized vps which i currently use as a cloud desktop (only whenever i’m connected to wifi) expiring tomorrow at 12:00 UTC+7. Two, celebrating my birth month (same as the US, yay.) three, i’m finally consolidating my identity change across social media (thanks, laziness! also yay!)

Admin, did you give your client area too much alcohol? Green field means domain added, but the message says error occurred. Task failed successfully!

The green field means that the validation succeeded. The error means that actually creating the domain failed.
The design is a bit of a leftover from the DNS validation page always coming after that, so having that green labeling isn’t really necessary. But for what it’s supposed to do, it works as intended.

Yes that’s the ideal situation: green field, verification successful, but actual adding failed.
Except it’s not. I experienced the same issue sometime before after obtaining my eu.org domain: The error message above just appeared out of nowhere. I tried clicking the “Add Domain” button again and this time it complains about “domain is already added”, which, is true! The domain is indeed added, exactly when “hosting platform error blah blah blah”…
Something is definitely wrong here.

The specific error means that the control panel call failed, meaning a connection error or an unexpected status code. This usually means that something went wrong on the control panel side, but it’s entirely possible that something did happen in the background, but there is no way to tell.
Sadly, there was some logging missing for that specific case so I don’t know exactly what happened there. But “call errors out, domain is still synced to database asynchronously” is basically the best achievable scenario there.

Today I installed Sandboxie and was immediately amazed, like why am I not knowing this existed and resorted to full VM to run some big corp apps that I need but don’t like

I decided to do something completely random: run the WeatherSTAR Jr simulator (it’s on GitHub) locally on a computer I haven’t used in a while, connected to my TV. I now have a Weather Channel.
