Everything on that domain doesn’t work, not even the web server on port 80 and 443 (which are open because Cloudflare only has a set of ports open and only for HTTP(S) traffic): the web server is down according to Cloudflare and every single other port is unaccessible.

Yes, this was deliberate (until a few seconds ago). See the last sentense of my original reply.

The reason why it’s now just all time out is that my public IP address suddenly disappeared.

I also saw that, so I checked when you enabled Cloudflare :rofl:

You are very lucky because Cloudflare is enabled like 1 minute before you replied :joy:

For some reason IPv6 is gone. So does my public IP — nobody gives you public IPv4 in China these days :upside_down_face:

Time to reboot the router — after which the IP is back. Not sure why does it still says time out…
And now I disabled the proxy again

We’re still lucky to have IPv4 with most network providers, just not the new ones (like Sky WiFi and Iliad) where the IPv4 is obtained through an IPv6 NAT as their network is native IPv6 and also shared between four users in the last case…

Lucky you; having 4 users sharing a single IPv4 still beats 99% of Chinese users where 1 IPv4 is shared across something like 100 NAT servers where each server got shared by 100 users :joy:

Alright the domain is back, with um, a web server running on it, though it is probably not gonna work.

Of course the A record is pointing nowhere

But at least the AAAA record is still there anyway… So I can’t access it through IPv4 but it’ll work through IPv6 instead!

I didn’t mean the v4 and v6 difference lol

What I mean it’s probably not gonna work is that I had identified some ISP level firewalls preventing the IP from being reached from some dangerous ports including the HTTP one :joy:

Oh, I can’t access it either way, not even when I change ISP because now that they finished the works for FTTH I have to get a contract through an ISP that’s enabled in my area

The none standard ports like 2053 (which is the port I gave to HTTPS) still works though :stuck_out_tongue:

What does this mean though

FTTH (Fiber to the Home) is enabled through select providers in the area where I live BTW, it’s just that the upgrade won’t be triggered automatically with every provider that offers that service in my area, so I either have to contact my current ISP to request a plan update or migrate to a different ISP if I want to access that network technology…

I don’t know if I use fiber though

But that isn’t gonna change a lot for me — here in China, you get 1000Mbps if you sign up for fiber, but that’s only the download. The upload can usually just be 10Mbps, and if you dare to use it all, say goodbye to your Internet. (Yes, this is also one of the major reason that I was extremely picky on what to expose to the Internet.)

If I upgrade to it, where I live, with TIM (which is the main network provider my current ISP is connected to via EasyIP), I’ll get up to 2.5 Gbps, which is very nice! Though I’m afraid I can’t use it all with my current infrastructure, so I’ll have to upgrade it… And those Gbps are just in download; in upload I’ll get full Gigabit…

2.5Gbps is pretty nice, but I’m afraid that the hardware will become the new bottleneck lol :joy:

Wait did you just said that you also got Gbps speed in upload?

When I was seeing a plan without any modem included (not signing up for it for now), I also remembered saying it.

Guess I was unlucky then — everything that you guys perceive as normal seems pretty unbelievable to me

The worst fact, though, is that only some network providers have the option to enable it (in my “market surveys” I only found out that TIM and Vodafone seem to offer FTTH where I live, same goes for any other provider which is based off of TIM, while Wind Tre will give me a FWA connection; Iliad and Sky WiFi won’t cover my area, Fastweb is still stuck to giving me FTTC and I don’t know which other provider is still stuck with the old technology or not giving me FTTH at all because some connect through TIM’s infrastructure, while some others through Fastweb’s one…).

A Cloudflare Pages thing apparently. No idea why it would listen on cPanel port.

Wait, so the main IF site is just hosted on Cloudflare Pages? Never thought about that
