20000 forum users - Awesome Special Event!

After 3 days of fiddling with hardware acceleration this is what I concluded:

nvidia + KDE + Wayland + VA-API = Disaster
nouveau + VA-API = Intergrated AMD GPU + VA-API (I don’t know why but nouveau simply doesn’t pick up the Nvidia GPUs.)
Intergrated AMD GPU + VA-API = Crash & crash & crash…
VDPAU + VA-API = Even more disaster

Nvidia GPU + KDE + X11 + VA-API = KDE in Ohio but VA-API works… Kinda…
sudo pacman -S ffmpeg = Useless, there’s no hard acceleration to start with
yay -S ffmpeg-full = GFW says hi to you
So Firefox = Don’t work

Chromium = Don’t have hardware acceleration in the first place

So Nvidia GPU + GNU/Linux = F*ck you

I tried in March after seeing the subreddit, around one month after you. I never got a response ://

I did myself dirty though. I do have a .com domain, but a few important sites were still on my .cf domain, and now I can’t change it without getting that email address back LOL.

Even worse - I registered my .com domain on Porkbun… with my .cf email address :skull_and_crossbones: And they’re asking for a 2FA code for me to login :sob:

So it looks like I’m going to have to buy that .cf domain back eventually. I checked tld-list.com/tld/cf, it looks like there still are some registrars around that sell .cf domain, which is surprising since I thought freenom was the only one?

Hey, how’ve you been?

Also I was wondering if someone could help me out on this issue.
When I search it up my .cf domain on other registrars, it comes up as available and free to buy?

But WHOIS doesn’t give a status for my .cf domain. It doesn’t say it is taken, and it doesn’t say it is active & available to buy either

Should I go for it or not? Because Freenom still has control over it right…?

No, I believe that Freenom lost control over .cf

hmm, I was wondering about that since they seem to be able to reactivate and renew domains for up to 9 years

Anyways, I’ll probably try it and see how it goes!

No access to sudo
Later, I want to experiment if I can issue GTS certificate on compute.amazonaws.com hostname

How could you issue certificates on some domain that you don’t own? And why would you want a certificate for that domain?

One, it worked

Two,

I simply followed instructions from this:

Three,

For fun! And actually the website I put on my Mastodon profile uses cloudapp.azure.com hostname because LE issuance/renewal still works on that hostname

I didn’t know that you have such a long prefix lol, I think you’re gonna issue a certificate for the root domain :joy:

Anyways, if I’m gonna test stuffs, I just issue my own certificates with my own CA :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
