MODs should be able to check newly created accounts so Itâs not hard to figure it out.
And I donât think if she got a new acc she could suppress all the desire to replying and liking stuffs
Bruh
And Oxy just casually share a link from ACP (Iâm more used to this phrase thanks to phpBB) that I canât directly look at
BTW, Discourse should let normal users view their own stats like that so they know how far they are from TL3 (aka being satisified )
she is back
then they would easily cheat
Hopefully you get a response because this was very unexpected.
You can find a lot of those if you dig through old posts.
Thank you Oxy but we canât access any admin/ routeđ
Said and done. She came back just as expected. Hopefully, with an improved temper and attitude this time.
I donât see the logic. The âunique xxxâ criteria makes it rather hard to just spam and cheat
I corrected it
the user should not know how many flags he can have and how many not
and other statistics
we moderators share it here and there when someone approaches a certain threshold
Yes, but I saw an opportunity and took it.
Talking about flags⌠I have a question. Sometimes when I flag a post it will get hidden (because I am TL4) but if I flag another post, it wonât be hidden. I came up with a theory that it will hide the first post that I flag of the day in GMT 00:00 time. But I just need confirmation.
By reading Discourse docs I thought it was about how many flags you got instead of how many flags you placed.
Maybe I was still misunderstanding this, but I still think it isnât a bad idea to display the numbers. (In this more sensible way, of course most of the stats is available through the users page but itâs a hassle to keep track of everything)
Most likely because that user is TL1?
If TL0, we should have no issue flagging it?
Discourse docs said that any TL4 flags hides the post immediately. Unless of course the doc is outdated.
The TL0 limitation was only present on TL3 flags.
Maybe Admin configured the forum here in a slightly different way?
Itâs about another thing but I donât think Admin tweaked anything.
in a certain timeâŚafter the expiration of one period the flags are âdeletedâ and do not play a role in the statistics for the regular
besides that, the numbers depend on what the admin decides and how he configured the forum, not as it was mentioned on discourse meta and the like.
but in short - the intention of the trust level was to reward good users
not that someone looks at the statistics and deliberately inflates the numbers in order to get some status as soon as possible, thatâs why I think itâs better that the statistics are not visible
I donât knowâŚwhen you saw that something wasnât hidden ?
maybe someone from the staff decided to show the post or ignore the flag
I have no idea⌠letâs leave something to the admin as a topic for discussion
because he also likes to talk , but there arenât many topics where he would get involved
Agreed. Maybe I was the kind pf people who are just statistics-maniacs that just wanted to look at the stats
I didnât talked about the numbers. I was talking about the meaning of that certain criteria.
youâre right
itâs about rewarding good users
so the goal is to write and behave in accordance with the rules of the forum
and not to get more than 5 flags, which would mean that you are not a good candidate for a higher trust level
There are a lot of them - when the situation is normal
but we also have an outage these days, so the number is even higher.
Mostly I do that when I check suspicious accounts, I didnât go looking for TiffanyâŚbut when we started talking about her I made an effort.
I looked into this awhile back (things may have changed since then), but there was some algorithm that considered how many posts you have recently flagged, your TL status, the posters TL status, how mods reacted to your past flags, etc.
During outages Iâll notice that the oldest posts from the outage will be hidden from user flags, but not the new posts that people flagged (Assuming discourse thinks you went rogue and flagged everything, so it does not hide the posts you flag later)
