Woah! I didn’t watch ITV because I’m not from the UK, but that’s quite a lot of names for their main breakfast programme!

And here they are!

Even if it hasn’t aged, the chemicals of it could break down in exposure to certain other chemicals or too much heat.

This soon? Even if there is drop of such chemicals in the air there is no way they haven’t landed on stuff. I wonder what could go wrong

it is for the city area
and those who were in the path of black smoke (the city was under the influence of gray/white smoke), soil and other samples were taken there and additionally sent to Germany for extra analysis.
Agricultural inspection also performs measurements on crops and veterinary inspection on animals.

Also, some stores in the city gave free 2 FFP3 masks for every bill

The director of the Institute of Public Health (University of Osijek) said that now everything is in extremely low concentrations, so I have to believe her

None of these elements will kill you within two days
and probably after 20 years when someone dies it will be attributed to old age or smoking cigarettes etc… :grimacing:

Well, this weekend was a frustrating one.

I ended up fixing the combine with my grandpa on Sunday morning (first the pump fitting was wrong, then the threads for the pipes to the pump, then the rod mechanism that controls the hydrostatic drive system, then the header hose)…

Only to excitedly try it out at ~2 PM on Sunday (the last day that I was there) and realize that it was too wet. I took a day off of my job in the cities (under the crippling OCD catastrophizing of ā€œwhat if I lose my job or what if they hate meā€) and all I get is a ā€œI fixed it but now I don’t get to enjoy the reward.ā€

So, I drove halfway home with my grandpa to meet up with my dad and brother (~170 miles is a long drive so we split it) with a depressed mind and this dull pain.

Sure, it’s just a small experience and maybe I’m being childish, but it’s always been a blessing and a joy for me to experience the things that farmers do. It connects me to the system that keeps millions upon millions alive in America. Maybe I’ll be able to go later when there’s a state-wide school break (teacher meetings IIRC), but I doubt that my grandpa will still be harvesting then. The final punch is that it was probably my last chance to try harvesting because I’ll be off to college next year and I don’t see myself as being able to start up a farm in a country where small farmers aren’t welcome.

Very few city kids (or kids for that matter) get to connect with something this important. I got to do it last year, but I’m really sad that all of my optimism seemed to go to waste this year.

@Thewebuser22 try to worry as little as possible,
because you will only spoil your day, and worrying will not change anything.

Besides that, we have a tendency to call it a problem whenever something doesn’t happen the way we imagined and planned,
but the real question is whether it is really a problem or not?

What if all those machine failures as well as rain and wet ground actually prevented some big accident and because of all that happened you are alive and well here today with us?

You never know what could happen… and some seemingly stupid reasons and problems may have saved us from some greater evil.

There’s my country, going out of its way again.

Truly though, this whole thing is a mess and I really hope that everyone can just stop and shake hands and have a beer or something. You know, as in, maybe don’t see your fellow humans as enemies?

That’s not too much to ask, right?

Welcome back to the Regular club, @anon50163844! And I also think the private lounge got removed…

It’s never there in the first place…

Oh! Then I thought bad! I think moderators still have it then, I don’t know…

Well…did you manage to access the private lounge when you were a moderator?

I still have short memory, so I don’t know exactly :joy:

Have to check with Ziverre then…

These memory losses will make me have some trouble… I’m gonna change topic now if I remember what to talk about!

No, the lounge was completely removed. There is a way for us mods to communicate within Discourse, but not through the lounge feature.

I don’t remember either.
