From my understanding there seems to always be a misconception that this “zip” and “unzip” action happens (or can happen) directly on server so it’s faster than transferring the files one by one and messing with the archives locally.
It makes sense as most hosting providers allows this. The GUI in conjunction with the name “file manager” also lead people into thinking that this is like Windows Explorer and must operates on the server directly.
