My theory is that most free hosting users don’t even know what the h*ll is a .htaccess and they’ll just copy & paste the entire thing into the file.
I wasn’t arguing, it do can confuse someone, but maybe just someone.
What I usually do is to copy & paste admin’s code so there’ll also be two RewriteEngine Ons

Unfortunately there’s like 10 days before I can edit wikis 
By the way I’m very confident multiple RewriteEngine Ons won’t cause any issues. I give a quick look at one of my sites here and it have 3 of them — yet it’s also one of the most stable sites I have here
I further tested this by writing RewriteEngine On 5x in a row and there’s not a single error

You won’t get an error but,
.htaccess is hierarchical (from top to bottom)
If you do repeat the RewriteEngine multiple times then the last instance of that directive wins and controls.
You can have more if you have OFF at the end of each one

My mind is breaking apart now.
My experience is that including multiple RewriteEngine Ons don’t effectively breaks the following rules. So in my case, both the WordPress permalink and force HTTPS works.
Maybe there’s something to do with <IfModule> blocks, where multiple RewrtieEngine Ons get seperated and don’t affect each other?
Cloudflare WARP is slow these days here

well thats just typical
30 mins all I get is a black screen but as soon as I post about the issue it starts to work
