Thank you @anon19508339 I feel like I’ve stumbled into becoming a member of an exclusive club by accident, but I’m very happy to be here

I feel a little background information and an introduction to the group is in order, I’m 61, and work as a Communications Technician in an AT&T central office. I do build my own computers, but have very little knowledge of programming, coding, website design, or webhosting.

My job requires constantly learning new technology, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of anything from a wired telephone line to the newest high level fiber switch/routers that are a part of anything from 1G to 100G fiber networks.

I just recently started into website and webhosting while trying to help my neighborhood with a more secure vehicle than facebook or nextdoor applications to conduct subdivision business. I started with a Wordpress site with their forum application, that wasn’t working out and I changed to using MyBB. That appears to be doing what we needed from the beginning.

Apologize for the extended post, I really appreciate the immediate acceptance and assistance I’ve experienced from all the regulars @Ergastolator1, @Oxy, @Fury_Phoenix, and @Admin who helped get my forum emails working. I can’t say enough about the community, you all make the difference!

P.S. One reason I’ve been able to spend as much time on the forum as I have recently is I was off work on disability for the entire month of February. I’m back at work so I can’t do that now, I still try and check in every day or so.

I just want to mention that unlike other statuses and badges
regular can be revoked if the user is not active enough.

Except 6 days, I didn’t left this forum since i got my regular badge

I’m honored to have been recognized as a regular and become one of a very few members (6) of an exclusive club.

But I need to keep some perspective, this is a free webhosting forum, not life or death. I spent a couple weeks in the hospital in January, found out I have COPD due to emphysema from years of smoking (I quit in 2013, but the damage has been done) and had to have part of my right lung removed. At this point my life has not changed for the worse yet due to that, it is a chronic condition that can be managed, it will never get better or even stay the same, only get worse over time.

If I lost the Regular title for whatever reason my life would not change one iota, if it was due to inactivity it could be regained by doing the things that earned it in the first place. I will always do my best to be welcoming, polite, and informative regardless of title
